First track victory of the year

The Ayden-Grifton Men’s Track and Field team enjoyed a close victory at Farmville despite the scoring error that was listed in Friday’s paper. Competing at the meet were Pamlico, Rosewood, and the hosts Farmville. The team won 3 out of four relays and dominated the 100 and 200-meter runs. Matt Dougherty smoked the field in the 1600 and 3200 meter run. First place in the 110 and 300 hurdles were also not close. Qualifying for regionals this week were Daniel Green in the 100-meter dash, Marcus Moore in the 200-meter dash. The 4x100 meter relay team consisting of Perseus Williams, Jeremy Hardy, Daniel Greene and Marcus Moore qualified for regionals as well. The Ayden-Grifton Ladies finished a strong third winning the 100-meter high hurdles, the triple jump and the long jump. Our next track meet will be against DH Conley at home tomorrow.
